Ways to Serve
In everything we do, we aim to follow Jesus. Mark 10:41-45 says, “Even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” As Jesus gave his life as an example for us to follow, we strive to serve others as he did.
While we are all called to serve, we see in 1 Corinthians 12 that each member of the body is gifted in different ways, likewise enabling us each to serve in different ways. Here at Edgewater, we celebrate everyone's different gifts, and we want every member to serve as they are able. This might be serving with the children during worship, greeting visitors to our church, pitching in with ministries to our community, or going on mission trips around the world. We celebrate diversity here, and would love to give you room to bring your gifts to the table.
Children's Ministry
We take shepherding our children very seriously. Service in this ministry is limited to members who go through our training and background check. If interested, contact ministry@edgewaterbc.org.
Inward
Inward is a women's only ministry to workers on Bourbon Street. Serving with Inward might look like going to the strip clubs to share and pray with dancers, prayer walking, donating goodie bags, or staying at the NAMB Center (on the campus of NOBTS) and praying.
International Missions
We pray, we support, and we go, all essential tasks in furthering God's kingdom to the ends of the earth.
International Student Ministry
Situated less than a mile from our church, UNO has a large population of international students. We aim to share God's love with them through intentional friendships, English lessons, and community events.
Global Maritime Ministries
Global Maritime Ministries exists to provide holistic Christian ministry by meeting the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of seafarers and maritime workers. If interested in serving, contact info@portministry.com.
